Japan companies would recruit around 1500 Myanmar workers

According to Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo, over 360 Japan companies would recruit around 1500 Myanmar workers.

The embassy has carried out timely verifications of demand letters received from the Ministry of Labour via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it said.

It verifies whether labour supervisory company and factories or companies which offered jobs in Japan are officially established or not, and re-submits its findings and remarks to the Ministry of Labour through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is about 365 demand letters that the embassy submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after verification until 15 May 2025. According to it, more than 310 Myanmar male workers and more than 1100 Myanmar female workers, totalling around 1500 would be employed by up to 360 Japan companies.

According to 31 July statement, 380 Japan companies would employ up to 1300 Myanmar workers.
